Suffolk Road Church

Early next year we are planning to take a group from this church to visit “The Chocolate Lady” at Steeple Bumpstead.
If you would like to be in this group please contact Ken or Christine as we need to have 25 people in order to book.

Group demonstrations start at 2.30pm with an introduction and demonstration of chocolate making techniques and tips which you can try at home.
The demonstration is followed by refreshments which can be either cream teas or tea/coffee and biscuits. At the end of the demonstration you will be able to purchase delicious handmade chocolates, chocolate making moulds and copies of her book, all at favourable prices.

On Sunday 25 October we gave thanks to God with a harvest celebration. Ken and Chris decorated the church wonderfully in a harvest theme. Click here to see the photo gallery.

Produce brought to the church was donated to Mill Grove orphanage in South Woodford.

The meeting was followed by a soup lunch and what we would normally have spent on Sunday lunch was instead donated to charity. Donations totalling £279.20 will be sent to World Vision to help equip a maternity ward in Makoka, Zambia with necessary supplies and to help give children the best start in life possible.

Mano & Mano (formerly La Fuente) has now moved to its new site in the village of El Tingo, around 20km from the capital Quito. It provides after school education support for local children living in this very poor region of Ecuador.

Congratulations to Dave Garlick and his fellow riders who completed their cycle journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats. Sponsorship and donations from Suffolk Road Church totalled £60, which goes towards the children’s project in Ecuador that Dave and his wife Ana manage. We had a wonderful time at our church weekend away at Sizewell Hall. These pictures are from a gorgeous afternoon, with plenty of bouncing, playing, chatting and smiling. Thanks to all the little people who helped take the photos.
